It ended up frustrating me and made me realize that she just was not ready. She would go to the bathroom if she was sitting on the potty but she just did not comprehend telling me when she needed to go. So after 3 days I opted to put it off for a few more months. Then came the week before Christmas. We got home Monday night after work and she asked to wear panties. I went along with it to see how she would do. She did fantastic. She went in the potty all that night...really could it be this easy? So every night that week we got home after work and she would ask for her panties. She had about 2 or 3 accidents that week but pooped in the potty and was telling me when she needed to go. So Christmas weekend I went at it full force. We said goodbye to diapers and put her completely in underwear.

We have had much success with this process. I would say that she is about 95% potty trained. She stays dry at night (I put her in a pull up because I am not brave enough to make the leap, what can I say I like my sleep), she tells me when she needs to go and she even poops in the potty. I say 95% because she still has her few accidents, this is mainly when she is too busy playing and forgets. But at 21 months I cannot complain. I kind of feel bad because I hear of so many horror stories of people that fight with thier kids for months with lots of bribes and tears. Brooklyn is a bright little girl. It amazes me how fast she picks things up. Kellan and I really do have our hands full with this one!

Here is a picture of how we spent many days when we first started. Brooklyn just wanted to run around in her panties. Now she wears clothes with the panties!

Christmas 2011

This Christmas season was filled with lots of parties, time with family and friends and a puzzle! Kellan got an awesome bonus at work that he was able to get himself a new ipad 2 and my work gave me a new camera. I ended up with a Nikon D3100. It takes awesome pictures and with it I hope to have a more updated blog. This has been a very eventful year and I can't wait to see what 2012 brings. I am so grateful for all that I have and could not ask for anything more! I wish everyone a very happy new year!

Long Needed Update

So I as usual have been horrible at my upkeep of the blog. It seems to be a growing trend with everyone though so I don't feel as guilty. Here are a few things that have been going on in the Doom household over the last few months...

In September we moved. We were so sad to leave all of the wonderful friends that we had come to know in our little complex but are also excited to move on to bigger things. We are now living in the house that I grew up in which is lots of fun to be back in my home ward.

October we celebrated Halloween all month long. We were able to go to Cornbelly's with some of our really good friends. It is so much fun to see Brooklyn growing up and being able to do some of the "BIG kid things". She seems to be learning something new everyday. I also celebrated my 27th birthday. I can't believe that I am that old. Time really does fly the older you get. Anywho...
The day before my birthday our old ward had a Chili cookoff and pumpkin decorating contest. For those of you that know Kellan you also know that he is a very competitive person. So of course he made a chili and carved a pumpkin. And with true Doom fashion everything was thrown together at the last minute. But everything went together as it usually does. Kellan made a duck chili and I made a white bean chicken chili. Surprisingly enough everyone LOVED Kellan's chili because he won first place. His pumpkin also took first as it was a pumpkin sitting on a toilet with a pie underneath showing where pumpkin pie comes from.
Halloween we were able to take Brooklyn out to our friends house. Thanks Becca and Parish for having us over! We had chili and breadbowls for dinner before taking the kiddos out. I really need to get better at taking picture because I did not get any pictures of Brooklyn in her cute little Minnie Mouse outfit. She was so much fun this year. She was able to have such a good example of how things were supposed to be done by Brock. After the first couple of houses she knew that she had to knock, say treat and then she got candy. She was even polite enough to say thank you after.

November brought us Thanksgiving. This year we were able to spend the whole day at my Grandma Olney's house. This year has really put things into perspective with my parents divorce. We are now going to have to start a rotation for the holidays. It makes me really sad that I have to choose between seeing family. But such is life. I was not going to do the black friday thing because I think that it gets crazy and brings out the worst in some people, it also gets you to buy something that you did not really need since it was such a good deal. But as I was looking through the ads there was some really good deals on clothes at Old Navy and both Kellan and I needed some new clothes and they were offering a free camera for a limited number of people. I ended up going over to the store at about 9:30 for the opening at midnight. I was the 10th person in line and they were giving it out to the first 40. Sweet I made it in time! So I ended up getting tons of clothes and a free camera. Totally worth it.

Now it is December and I am so excited for Brooklyn's Christmas this year. She is starting to grasp the concept of things so we will see how she does with Christmas.

Brooklyn is the light of our lives. She amazes me every day at how smart she is. It seems like I teach her something once and she remembers it. She makes me appreciate every minute that I get to spend with her. She also makes me realize how important the Plan of Salvation is. I am so grateful to be sealed together as a forever family and to know that this happiness does not end. I obviously don't want it to end anytime soon, mostly because I still have so much to learn but I want to spend more time teaching Brooklyn what she needs to know. There have been circumstances in my family over the last couple of months that have really brought into perspective the importance of the Gospel in my life. My heart goes out to my Grandpa Grow who's health seems to be increasingly declining as well as to my Uncle Mark who has had a two year battle with brain cancer. He has been fighting a long and hard battle with the cancer but is getting really tired of fighting and seems to be preparing to return to our Father in Heaven. Both of these great men have made me have a better understanding of our eternal plans for all of us.
On that note I will work on getting better at updating the blog as well as having pictures to make it a little more interesting! I wish all of my family and friends a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

15 month check up

Brooklyn had her check up this last Monday. Here are her stats.
Height: 31 inches 70th percentile
Weight: 23.1 pounds 50th percentile
Head: 46.5 cm 60th percentile

The doctor was really impressed with her overall development. When he first walked in the room she ran from the table to me and he was surprised that she was running. She can also point to her eyes, nose and mouth. He said that that is a 2 year old development. I really love my baby and can't believe how fast she catches on to things. It seems like I show her something once and she can do it after that. Here is a few other things she is doing now:
*Running
*Talking-bird, plane, momma, dada, dog, toille, pat, rama (grandma), papa (grandpa), ball, more, shoes, fish, wash, mine, hi, bye bye, baby...I am sure there are a few more that I can't think of.
*She points to her stomach and says belly!
*She loves to wash her hands
*She loves to take my phone or the remote and runaway and say mine while laughing!
*Her favorite show used to be Mickey Mouse Clubhouse but just the last few days it is pat pat (which is Brooklyn talk for Little Einstiens)
*She is very daring and loves to try new things. She will even go down the big kid slide with no help or hesitation!

She has her 4 upper and lower front teeth and is working on all 4 molars at once. The lower right has finally broken through with the other three close behind I'm sure.

Brooklyn is the light of our lives and I am so grateful that the Lord entrusted her precious life with us! She teaches us something new every day, but most of all, patience!

Amazing photographer

Check out my friends blog. Oh well better late than never right? We celebarted Brooklyn's birthday party a few days early so we could have it on a Saturday when more peolpe were available to share in her special day. We just had a get together with family to help celebrate. I decided that I was going to make the cupcakes for the party and her little destruction cake. I was going to do a fondant cake but was discouraged by multiple people so I just frosted it instead and piped on Happy birthday. For the cupcakes I was going to make them like they do in the fancy shops but for some reason my frosting would not hold and every time I tried to pipe it on it would just melt off. So I ended up just slapping it on and sticking it in the fridge to help it set up and that seemed to work. I was so stressed out with those things. Next time I will try a different frosting. Here are a few pics from the big day!

The day after her actual birthday was her 12 month check up appointment. Poor girl had to get 2 shots! But she does fairly well with them. How nice of the doctor to give her such a wonderful present right? She is developing really well and the doctor is really impressed with her.
Her stats are as follows:
Height-29 1/4 inches 75th%
Weight- 21.2 pounds 50th%
Head- 46cm 80th%
So overall she is an average baby. Which is just great! We are so happy with our stubborn little one year old. She brings us so much joy most days! Here are a few of the things she is doing...
-Walking, but still a little sea legged
-jabbering up a storm. She says mama and dada. She also attempts Touille and Crush it is more like ooee and shhh
-She knows to tell the dogs shh when they are barking and also no no no
-she has a little rocking chair that she can climb in and out of
-she can get off of the couch without falling, she knows how to turn on her belly and slide off
- she can climb up and down stairs which still baffles me as to where she learned it because she does not really deal with stairs and one day she just started to climb them
-she is off the bottle 100%
-she was off of the binkie until she got sick and then she saw it one day and really wanted it, so we will try again now that she is not sick anymore
-she has 6 teeth 2 on bottom and 4 on top
-she loves her monkey and takes him everywhere we go
-she loves blankets and when she first wakes up she wantsyou to pick her up with her blanket and monkey
-she loves to brush her hair and is finally starting to like to wear bows Yea!!!
-she loves bath time
We love our little baby B and can't belive that it has been a year already. It makes me so sad to think that we have already had a year pass by. Before we know it she is going to be getting married and having her own little munchkins. Here are a few other random pictures over the last few weeks.

Brooklyn with one of her cheeser faces!

Brooklyn the G Thug baby with her two favorite things in tow monkey munks and food!

Brooklyn and Cassie. Height 26.5 inches 75th percentile
Weight 18 pounds 60th percentile
Brooklyn has reached many milestones that I need to catch up on since I have been such a slacker with the blog. So I apologize in advance cause this is more for my information to have to look back on.
Brooklyn is such an active little girl. She scoots all over the place. She also pulls herself up and will cruise all around. I am sure she will be walking soon. She is getting to be a little parrot. She will say ma ma ma and da da. She also dances to music which is so cute. She can do patty cake if you catch her in the right mood. But all in all she is a very happy baby. She loves to eat everything. It is a good thing she is so active cause if she was not she would probably be one of those roly poly babies! But if I want any record of the proceedings in my life since this is like a journal for me I must do it. Among the many statistics I could find online the percentage of people that are divorced in the United States is 10%. That may not seem like alot compared to how many people there are but it is far higher than it should be. According to a website 45-50% of first marriages end in divorce. That just blows my mind that people can just throw it all away. I am sad to say that after 31 years of what I thought had been a pretty happy marriage my parents are too throwing in the towel. Totally threw me for a loop when I heard this. I still don't know if I know all the facts and what has happened over the last month and a half (yes that is all the time it took) but once the papers go through than it will be a matter of 90 days until the divorce is final. It is kind of crazy cause Cassie my sister in law just made a post on her blog about divorce. I don't think that she knew anything about my parents but she was curious as to if it was worth it. I think as long as you keep close to Heavenly Father and ALWAYS have the gospel in your lives that you can work any problems out. I understand that there are exceptions to the rule but I would hope that every step you could take to over come the problem would be taken before just throwing in the towel. It has been a sad 2 months and if I have seemed distant to anyone that is probably the reason. I am coming to terms with the idea of what this entails and hope that I have the strength to move past this awful time in my life. I am just so grateful for the testimony that I have that families will be together forever and that we are given trials in this life so that we may grow. We may not know the reason for these trials and what we need to learn from them but we will one day. I am grateful that I have a loving husband that has helped me get through this hardship and when I am having a sad moment all I have to do is just look at my beautiful daughter and she brightens any sad moment and it is just that a moment. I know that our family is an eternal one and we will be together throughout the eternities. I love both my mom and dad and I will be there for both of them through all of this.

Life and Times of Brooklyn

There have been a few things going on in the last month and I have slacked on posting them. So I will try to get a quick update in.
First we started Brooklyn on solid foods about a month and a half ago. Let me just tell you this girl LOVES food! Any time I am holding her and trying to eat she opens her mouth for a taste of what mom has. Or if she sees the spoon her mouth pops right open.

We did the mean parent thing and gave her a taste of a salt and vinegar chip. I for some reason cannot upload video to blogger (I am blogger illiterate so if you want to see the video I posted it on facebook.)

She also learned how to roll over. In one swift moment like she had been doing it forever. We were over at my in-laws and I had laid her on the table to change her diaper and after we were finished I let her lay there to just kick her legs and the nexst thing I knew she was reaching out for the wipes and flipped over to get them. (There is also a video on facebook about this!) Maybe when Kellan gets home he can figure it out cause he is smart like that!

She can sit up for a few seconds but is really wobbly so that is the next thing we will be working on. Here is a pic of that.

We went to Lagoon for my mother in laws work Lagoon day and we failed to get any pictures of the day. (we are still working on the parnets taking pictures thing.) But I can say that Brooklyn had tons of fun and she warmed up to Grandpa Doom especially when he gave her an animal cooklie with icing! ( I was not around to protest! Dang long lines)

Like father like daughter. Here are her stats:

Weight 14.8 lbs. 75th percentile
Height 25 1/4 in. 80th percentile
Head 16 1/2 in. 60th percentile

The doctor was amazed again at how perfectly round her head is. He was also impressed by her muscle strength. We got the okay to start her on solid foods. Which is perfect timing because she watches Kellan and I as we eat. Kellan was eating some wheat thins one day and she would just follow his hand from the box to his mouth and back again. Needless to say he let her try it out and first thing she does when she gets it is pops it in her mouth. We started rice cereal and she seems to tolerate it. I can't imagine that it is the best tasting stuff but she eats it. The one thing she loves to eat is animal crackers. Grandma Doom gave her one of those and she scarfed it down. When she was done she started to fuss and stopped as soon as she got another one. We are probably horrible for giving her these things so soon but I think she is ready.
She is such a happy baby. She is quick to give a smile and if you catch her right she will even give you a laugh. I love to hear that sound, it really is music to my ears. She knows who mom and dad are. I love to see her eyes light up when Kellan or I get home from work and she sees us. She has not quite mastered the art of rolling over just yet, she gets to her side but has not rolled on her own yet. But I know she will get there soon as you can see that she wants to.
Brooklyn loves to sleep with her teddy bear. I took a picture of her napping with him and our bed.

Baby has more fun with our friends

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v9.nonxt3.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D4a2c1f393eb32889%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330399861%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3DE4178CF1702C3BA3E633F63A0E586675EBE08D0.57E3EC8D4815576D17EB953BF28C4B6BD8DA8F09%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D4a2c1f393eb32889%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DXlyzwS4QB3AcIe4yGIM1t6rhKNg&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

As Mindy was watching the baby for us. It was fun to get together with all our friends and the kiddos. I love the awesome friends that we have made in our little community and can't wait for the next get together.

In a few days Brooklyn is going to be 3 months old. I cannot believe how the time has flown by. She gave me her first real giggle yesterday when I was changing her. She loves being on her changing table and I always get the cutest smiles. I will try to capture some of those for another post. Thinking that it would be busy because I try to win things on the radio all the time and never get through, but to my surprise it was ringing. After a few rings I thought I must have got through but was not fast enough. Just when I was about to give up hope I hear "Hi, what's your name?" I knew that this was it I had won. So since I knew the answer Kellan and I get to go to Cowabunga Bay to see how it is. I am so excited. I am not sure if I got the 4 hour pass or the all day pass, I will pick it up tomorrow and let you know! For those who do not know what Cowabunga bay is here is a picture.....

House Work

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go up and spend some quality time with my Grandma Grow. She watched Brooklyn while I helped her do some stuff around the house. She was nice enough to provide a yummy lunch for us. My question is though...why is it more fun to go and clean at some other persons house than your own? If that is the case then there should be an organization that you can join that you swap houses and clean. Here are her stats:

Weight: 12.1 lbs 85th Percentile
Height: 23 1/4 in. 75th Percentile
Her head is perfectly round with no flat spots! (I can't remember what the size and percentage was)

The doctor said that she has really good muscle control and looks perfectly healthy. She was talking the whole time and then the dreaded nurse came in and everything changed. It is so sad to see them going from completely happy to bawling in less than a second. The shots are so mean. I can see why little kids are afraid of going to the doctor. The shots and the tongue depressor to look down the throat. I think it makes everyone gag when they do that.

Brooklyn is such a joy. She really is a happy baby. I could not have asked for anything better. I love that I get to stay home more and spend that time with her.

Things Brooklyn is doing at 2 months:
Smiles when sees mom and dad
laughs in her sleep (it is soo cute)
follows an object with her eyes
great muscle control in her neck and head
sleeping though the night

We love you very much Baby B! We went to dinner at Kellan's parents on Sunday and then on his actual birthday Kellan had to work during the day. That night we just spent as a family. I made dinner and then we went to the drive in and saw Shrek 4. For Kellan's birthday he got the Mash dvd box set. He has been wanting this for a long time so I pulled the money together from a few people and got it for him! I ordered it online and did it too late so he has to wait a few more days to actually get it. Next year I will have to plan better! I am so grateful to have a worthy priesthood holder in our house. Kellan is such a good patriarch and guides our little family very well. The blessing that he gave her was so Beautiful. She was peaceful and serene during the whole thing. My mom was smart and saved the dress that I was blessed in as a baby. So I was able to share that special thing with Brooklyn. Hopefully she will look back and be grateful for that. I am so grateful for being blessed with such a wonderful family. My parents helped out so much with all the planning for the blessing especially my mom. I don't know what I would do without her. She is such a planner and it can be a little overwhelming at times but she makes sure that all the little details are taken care of that I would have missed had she not been that planner. I am so glad that everything went smoothly and also that it is over. I did not realize all that went into planning for it and it is just nice to be done. There were so many people that came out to support us and I am thankful for each and every one of them! Like I have said in posts past I am horrible about pictures so the only ones I got were of the baby. Kellan's aunt did get a few of Kellan and I with the baby so hopefully I can snag copies from her for our records! Thanks again to all those who made Brooklyn's blessing such a spiritual day! She may not remember it but I always will!

Memorial day weekend and babies first camping trip

This weekend we had the opportunity to go camping with my family for Memorial Day. It was tons of fun and Brooklyn did amazingly well. We got to the West Desert on Friday night. My parents had been there all week so all we had to do was bring in our bags. We stayed in the camper with my parents. It was so nice not staying in a tent. That would have made for a long weekend. We brought the pack and play for the baby to sleep in and the first night I tried to put her in there while Kellan and I took the most uncomfortable hide away ever. By the next morning Kellan was on the floor sleeping on the couch cushions and I was asleep on the bed sideways with the baby next to me. I don' t know if it was just how much the trailer moved or a new environment but the baby would not sleep in the pack and play which is what she sleeps in at home. I think it was a mixture of both. The next night I ended up sleeping in the recliner with the baby on my chest and Kellan pulled off the matress to the hide away and slept on that. Much better. Needless to say we worked out the kinks in sleeping. Saturday the weather was sunny but super windy and the wind was cold. Sunday was much better with sunny and not a cloud in the sky with a light breeze to cool you in the warmth of the sun. Monday was perfect not to hot or cold...of course that is how it always is on the last day right?!? Anywho here are a few pics from the weekend. I am still not as good as I should be so all the pics are of the baby in the camper but she loved being outside.

2 week old pics

Last week I took Brooklyn to get some pictures done by my wonderful friend Tawnya. She takes great pics and was willing to take some of my cute little girl. Here are a few of my favorites! I can't believe that she is 3 weeks old. Time goes by way too fast. When I took her in for her 2 week appointment she weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. 60th percentile and was 20 1/8 inches 40th percentile. She is still a little shorty but is gaining weight pretty good.
I am so blessed with a wonderful husband that is so willing to help out with the baby. I started back at Dan's a few nights a week and he is more than willing to watch Brooklyn. I wish that I did not have to go back to work already but I do. Luckily I think that I will be able to cut back my hours quite a bit. I will work a few nights at Dan's and hopefully find a dental office that needs a part time assistant. I applied at one office and had an interview. If I get the position it would be for Monday and Friday all day and then the 2nd and 4th Saturday just a half day. Any one that would be willing to watch Brooklyn on Mondays and Fridays from 7:30 to about 5 let me know. That is if I even get the job. But it is better to prepare now with people that would be able to and I would rather put my baby in the hands of friends rather than strangers. Please let me know if that would work for anybody. I could even do one day with one person and one day with another!
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; The doc stripped my membranes and stretched my cervix on the Friday before. Saturday I was having contractions that were about 10 minutes apart but not very strong and not always consistent. So that night we went and got dinner at about 7 cause I was not supposed to eat after 12. When we got home I tried to go to bed but the pain was getting stronger and they were consistently 10 minutes apart all through the night. So I tossed and turned and walked around, played on the computer and even tried to sleep in the recliner. Nothing was helping. So at 5 I went and was playing on Facebook and Kellan came in and asked what I was doing. I just told him I was uncomfortable and could not sleep. I was supposed to call at 6 to see if they were too booked to do the induction or if I could go in so I figured I would just stay awake. At 5:20 they got closer together being about 5 minutes apart and more painful. So finally at about 5:40 I called and said how far apart they were and asked if they just wanted me to come in then. They said yes. So I went and woke up Kellan and we got ready then headed to the hospital. When I got there I was at a 3 so they set up the pitocin and got the induction started. It progressed about 1 cm every hour to hour and a half after that. At about 12 I was done with the pain and asked for an epidural. They came in and gave it to me and then after that it was smooth sailing. It was a long wait to be fully dilated but I was not feeling a thing. So they came in and checked me at about 9 and I was finally at 9cm but it took a long time to get there. So my parents were hungry and said they were going to run and grab McDonald's and then be back in like 30 minutes. The nurse said that it would probably be awhile so they left. About 10 minutes after they left I felt like I needed to push. When I told the nurse that she told me to try and at that point I was ready to start the pushing process. I was worried because my parents were not back yet. But just as the doc came in to start really pushing my mom walked through the door. I then pushed only to come to find out that the baby was faced posterior. So the doctor was trying forever to try and turn her. He was really worried that her head would not be able to make it through and that they would have to do a c section. I did not really want that so I pushed harder and then she started to crown. So the doc was amazed that I was pushing well enough that I was going to be able to push her out. So they broke down the bed and got things ready. He decided to do an episiotomy to help and after he did that the next push she slipped right out. Which is funny because they were really worried that she would still get stuck and called in an extra nurse to push on my uterus to push her shoulders through. But she was not needed. So all in all I only ended up pushing for about an hour and fifteen minutes. Brooklyn Anne Doom was born at 11:13 PM on April 11th. She weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and was 20 inches long. Now as I type this I realize how blessed I am with such a perfect little angel. Brooklyn did have a fever when she came out that they were concerned with. They took her up and let Kellan give her a bath and then they ran some tests and had to end up putting an IV in her head to give her antibiotics. After the first night her fever went away and everything seemed fine with her health. After the 48 hour cultures came back everything looked normal and we were able to take her home.

Baby time

Today was a busy day for doctors visits. I had a non stress test first, then an ultrasound to see how big they were estimating the baby to be and then a visit over to my doc to see if I have dilated at all. Everything went good with the non stress test. They estimate Brooklyn to be about 8 lbs 13 oz. They say that it can be a pound difference either way so I sure hope that they are measuring big! Then my doc wanted to check to see if I had dilated at all. As of last Monday I had not dilated, so this week I went walking with my dad alot to try and get her to drop and to get me dilated. Well it seemed to help because I am dilated to 2 cm. So the doc stripped my membranes and stretched my cervix a bit. He thinks that we should go ahead with being induced. They were going to do it on Saturday but upon calling the hospital they are booked so it looks like it will be Sunday. Yeah! The end is in sight. I thought that this baby was going to be stubborn and stay in me forever. It will be so nice to hold her in my arms instead of having her kick me whenever I try to rest on her space. I will keep everyone posted as to when the baby gets here and all her stats!

Pregnancy Update

So yesterday was my doctors visit and he is concerned with my swelling. My blood pressure had gone done this time and I don't have protein in my urine but I am super swollen. He asked about the history of babies in our family and both Kellan's mom and my mom had big babies. I am also measuring a little big. He wants me to start coming every week and if things are still looking like I am measuring big they will do an ultrasound to see how big the baby is. If she is looking big then he may induce me early. He wants me to stop working after the 19th of March which was 3 weeks before I was planning. But I think that he would induce me shortly after that. So Brooklyn may make her presence into this world before April. We shall see though.

Calling all friends

So I need to figure out a babysitting schedule for the baby now. I want to know what works for other moms and to see if anyone would be willing and able to help out watching my cute bundle of joy. Kellan and I will most likely have Mondays and Fridays covered if all works out with our work schedules. So we would just need help on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I don't want to bog down one person (unless someone is able to) so I was hoping to get in the babysitting loop. Let me know if there is anyone out there that can help us out. It would probably be from like 7:15 to 4:30ish.

Nesting!

So I have officially started the nesting stage I think. I have so many things that I want and need to get done before Brooklyn arrives. On the list of things is rearranging our bedroom to make more space for the babe. I also need to get the room painted and put together as we start getting stuff. Before I get all the stuff in I want to clean the carpets. I am wondering if any of my friends out there may have or know someone that has a carpet cleaner that I could borrow for a few weeks as I move furniture and clean the different rooms? Please let me know. I am also getting this overwhelming feeling about the hospital I have never had any serious problems that have required me to stay in the hospital since I was really little and the more I think about it I am getting really nervous. Was anyone else the same way and what got you over this anxiety?!? I can't believe that in just 10 weeks we will be parents. The time has gone by so fast for this pregnancy. I finally got registered at Babies R Us and Target and got some showers planned. I feel like I have something every single day until the baby gets here. I know that I might be exaggerating just a little but there is alot going on in such a little amount of time. Hopefully I can convince Kellan to go to Home Depot with me in the near future cause I want to pick out paint and get the ball rolling on a few things.

Surprise!

Tiny fingers, tiny toes,
Little itty bitty clothes.
Dresses, ribbons & hair to curl,
We're tickled pink to be having a girl!
Everything went well at the ultrasound appointment.
The baby was very active but she cooperated!
After measuring the baby they bumped my
due date up to April 11th! I am so excited. Kellan and I are up in the air as to whether or not we want to find out the sex of the baby so I thought that I would take a poll and see what others have done and what your thoughts are. I am also looking for a cute way to let our families know if we do decide on finding out. So some input into the situation would be nice. I know that ultimately the choice is up to Kellan and I but it is still fun to bounce ideas off of each other. Let me know what you think!

Long Time Coming!

The last three months I have been in a blogging hiatus. I have been extremely busy so I usually just get on long enough to read others blogs but not take the time to update mine. So I will catch you up on what has been going on. Back in July I went to Girls camp as the camp director and had a BLAST. Then 2 weeks later I lost my job. But need not worry because I had a new office to work at within 3 days and it is such a better office. With all my stress going to losing my job I was able to stop worrying about all other things going on in my life. So as some of you may know Kellan and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 and 1/2 years now. We tried a few different things and nothing seemed to be working so we just thought that the timing was not right and that we would just not worry about it for now. So the month that I lose my job what happens? Nothing other than I get PREGNANT! So now I am 11 weeks along and going strong. I was trying to think of a cute way to do it but this is just as good, since there are a few of you that read this that already know. So the tentative due date is April 13th. I have my first doctors appointment this coming Friday. I had to wait so long because I had to change insurances which meant changing doctors. So I will keep you all updated on the changes that are going on!

A few weeks ago was Kellan's 25th birthday! I had the whole day planned of events for him. We started out the day with going to see the movie UP in 3D. That was lots of fun. We were joined by our friends and family, Parish and Becca, Cassie and Dave and Reesa and cute little Cohen! From there we went to grab some grub at Braza grill. The food there was great, the service not so much. I would not recommend that place just for that reason. Anywho...Then Kellan and I went home to take a little cat nap. We were going to go miniture golfing but the rains had other plans for us. So napping was the second best thing. Then around 6 Joel and Mindy and Neil and Jana came over with their kids. Mindy was nice enough to offer to make a cake for Kellan, which was delicious and took that task off of my hands, so thanks Mindy! Then the guys wanted to go to the DI so we loaded everyone up in cars and went over. Reesa and Cohen also joined us but Dave was napping. It was a theme of the day. After our DI trip we all came back to our house where Dave had woken up and joined us. We sang happy birthday to Kellan and ate cake. We played the Nintendo 64 for a while until the kids got restless so Jana and Neil, Mindy and Reesa took the kids home. Kellan, Joel, Dave and myself played some Texas Hold'em, no real money was involved of course. :) Cassie was staying with us for the night so she came about halfway through playing and joined in on the fun. We played that for a couple of hours, then everyone went home. So I hope that my wonderful husband had a great day! I Love You Honey!

What 's a girl to do?

So I am in a slump right now. I have no motivation at all to work out. I tell myself that I am going to wake up and go before work but then the alarm goes off and I change the time so I can sleep longer. Then I tell myself that I will go after I get off and it does not always happen. Tonight I did bust out the ole wii fit. I actually had to replace the batteries because we have not used it in so long. I worked up a little bit of a sweat but I am not sure if it was because I was working hard or if it was just hot in the house. Maybe tomorrow I will change my act and get up early. We will see. But on a better note I have lost 7.9 pounds in 5 weeks so I must be doing something right. I am training to do a 10k later this summer. Which will be super fun. It is my first 10k and I am a little bit frightened. But slow and steady wins the race right.
Anyone have any good healthy summer recipes? I am sick of the same old stuff that I am always making. I want to try and mix it up somehow. Let me know if any of you have any easy, healthy go to meals, or even snacks. I got an email for the most dangerous chocolate cake recipe. It is as follows...

The most dangerous cake recipe

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

a small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.. I get 27 points in a day. This cake would be 23 points. That is almost all my points for the day. I guess if devided it with some people it would get better but I am not sure how much it makes and the pieces could get pretty small. But if there are any of you out there that are blessed with beautiful bodies that can eat what ever they want without gaining a pound or if you just don't care, try this cake and let me know how it is! Happy eating!

Stupid Murdock Chevrolet

So I am very upset with Murdock Chevrolet at this point. When we first got the car and test drove it Kellan said that it pulled to the left. Then we went in and signed the papers for the car and forgot to put that to be fixed as part of the deal for getting the car. The drivers side speaker was also out so they had to order a new radio to see if that would fix the problem. When I took the car in to get the radio installed, which by the way was like a week later, I mentioned to them that the car was still pulling to the left and to check it out. So they fixed the radio and said that the alignment was off. But it would be like $90 to do an alignment. We declined at the time thinking that it would not be that bad. Well 4 months later the cd player quits working and the drivers side tire is almost bald. So I take it back into Murdock to get the radio fixed again and come to find out they no longer make the radio for a 2005 and that we will always get a refurbished one. Kellan has me give his number to the guy so that he can talk to them about the tire and they say that since it was not part of the original deal that it was our problem. The guy that sold us the car said that he does not remember the situation and the service guy says that we could have hit a pothole right out of the dealership on the day that we bought it and so it could have been our fault. He also informed us that the tires were not the right size for the car and that we would not need 1 but 4 new tires. But they are willing to work with us by giving us the tires at cost and doing a free balance but we would still have to pay for the alignment. Heck No. If they are willing to do that it says to me that they realize that it was their fault but they are going to do all they can to get around it. So I guess that I will take my business else where and get the tires done right. Sorry this is so long but I had to vent my frustrations of the whole situation. I tried to go to the gym tonight and I think that this was in the back of my mind just festering so I did not get in as good of a workout as I had anticipated. So again I say stupid Murdock Chevrolet. I guess that is what I get for buying a used car.

Today I hung out with my friend Darcy. We took her little boy Kameron to the park. It was tons of fun! We also went to lunch at Sonic Drive In. Since it was 2:00 PM we were just in time for happy hour! I was going to just get a large Cherry Limeade but the guy said you could upgrade to a Route 44 for only 2 cents more!?! Who can pass that up. So of course I had to get the big one because their cherry limeade is sooooo good. After we went to Old Navy and got a few pairs of flip flops. I had to restock due to the dogs chewed up my new ones that I got last season. I had pulled them out a few weeks ago when the weather teased us into thinking it was going to be nice but then snowed again. They were just sitting on the floor by the door when I left them but when I came back they were in pieces. That is the lesson that I had to learn the hard way. Now I know that the dogs love them and I will always have to put them up. Well Happy St.Patty's Day to you all! I hope that you are all wearing green and that you get a wonderful dinner of cornbeef and hash!

So Kellan was not to thrilled when he saw the up close and personal pictures of my teeth. He thought that it was gross. For those of you that agreed I apologize for the post. This past couple of weeks have been so hectic and I don't even know why. I started to work out at the beginning of the year and I just threw everything that I have done out the window. So this next week I am going to buckle down again. It is so hard cause the only time that I can really go is at 5AM and that is really early. So if anyone has any tips on what they do to stay in shape and keep motivated let me know.

Today we had some down time at work so I got my teeth whitened. I decided that I needed to get on the blog scene. So here it is. A little about Kellan and I. We got set up on a blind date by Kellan's aunt and uncle. We went out on our first date and had a blast. We saw each other pretty much all the time after that. He proposed on our 3 month anniversary and then we were married 3 months after that. I guess that when you know you just know. We have been married for 2 years and 9 months now and the time has just flown by. We have 2 dogs, Touille and Crush. They are both Dachshunds. Touille is a miniture short hair and is the Queen of the coop. Crush is a regular size dachshund with long hair. He is so timid every time Touille barks he runs for the hills which is funny since he is bigger.
